How far would you go for the one you love?
After dying on her wedding day, Eurydice must journey to the underworld, where she reunites with her father and struggles to remember her lost love. Reimagining the classic myth of Orpheus and Eurydice not through Orpheus' infamous pilgrimage to retrieve his bride, but through the eyes of its heroine, this is a fresh look at a timeless love story.
Character Breakdowns
Eurydice... (20s - 60s) The protagonist. Curious, whimsical, bookish, and slightly clumsy. She values truth over superficiality. Deeply in love with Orpheus.
Orpheus... (20s - 60s) A musical genius consumed by composition. He is romantic to the point of distraction, sometimes forgetting basic mundane aspects of daily human life. Deeply in love with Eurydice.
Father... (30s - 60s) Resident of the underworld, watches Eurydice from afar, and gently cares for her after her death. Tender, poetic, pragmatic, and fiercely loving.
Nasty Interesting Man/Lord of the Underworld... (Late 20s - 30s) The catalyst of Eurydice’s death. Predatory and devious in the real world; arrogant and egotistical in the Underworld.
A Chorus of Stones [Big Stone, Little Stone, and Loud Stone]... (Any Age) Acting as a “Greek chorus” , the stones reside in the underworld and communicate with the audience as well as other characters. They act as the strict rule-keepers of the Underworld. Often played with a jarring mix of menace and childish cruelty, they represent societal expectations, rigid traditions, and the impossibility of questioning the laws of the dead.
